Joel Bauman is a Principal Hydrogeologist at BHP’s Legacy Assets USA, where he leads technical and regulatory programs to reduce risk and progress closure at former gold and uranium mines in California, New Mexico, and Utah. His expertise is in site characterization, soil and water remediation, and communicating complex issues with stakeholders. Joel has over 24 years of industry experience, having joined BHP in 2018 after working as an environmental consultant and a regulator. In addition to mining projects, he has led work at power plants, industrial facilities, Department of Defense sites, and landfills. Joel is a California Professional Geologist and a PMI Project Management Professional.
