Gabriel Chiasson-Poirier is the Environment Water Management Coordinator for the Agnico Eagle Inc Meliadine gold mine. Before joining the mining operations world, Gabriel developed his experiences in water management for various consulting projects, related to mining, but also to dam management, floodplain modelling and development of water balance models. Gabriel holds an honour undergrad degree in Environmental Sciences and a Master in Hydrology. His research during his academic life was focused on northern hydrology and groundwater flows in permafrost areas. Throughout all his professional and academic experiences, Gabriel continuously used GIS tools to improve and extend his projects perspectives.
