Bio:
Briana Gunn is an environmental director for Newmont Mining Corporation. She has devoted her career to supporting mining through the full life cycle identifying and mitigating risks around water management. She holds a BS/MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado and holds a professional engineer licensure in US states. She has extensive experience in planning, design, and closure. She works in corporate Sustainability & External Relations managing compliance with environmental standards, implementing long-term strategies, supporting capacity building and collaborating on projects to ensure alignment with Newmont standards and objectives. Her recent activities with Newmont include supporting implementation of the sustainable practices around water, waste, chemical and land management. Briana is a member of several organizations outside of work participating in local and global seminars, workshops and organizations that support collaboration across the mining industry to strengthen performance.
