Company: Newmont Mining
Job title: Senior Manager, Water Technology
I trained in geochemistry (MSc hons) and spent 6 years as a production metallurgist in a Gold recovery plant in New Zealand. In this role I was responsible for the site wide water balance and developed a mine to mill predictive geochemistry model to inform water treatment requirements. This experience was transferred to the technical services function. In my current role I provide leadership and subject matter expertise to support water stewardship globally. Specifically; corporate strategy, major and minor capital project development, merger and acquisition due diligence, and operational water quality challenges across all of our operating regions globally. I have senior management and leadership experience in the technical services function, developing strategic plans relating to global policy and governance, including being an architect of the Newmont Global Water Strategy.
