Bio:
John has more than 40 years of experience in the energy and petrochemical industry. He joined Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA) from Canadian Natural Resources, where he worked for more than eight years as Engineering Manager, Bitumen Production at Horizon Oil Sands during design, construction and operations. Prior to joining Canadian Natural, John worked for 25 years with Dow Canada including work in six different production facilities, process engineering and HR. He participated on the Construction Owners Association of Alberta (COAA) Board of Directors from 1998 – 2012, chaired the COAA’s Best Practices Committee for over 10 years and is a past president. John is currently COSIA’s Water Director; he has also served as COSIA’s Tailings Director and Acting Chief Executive. John holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in chemical engineering from McMaster University.
