Karien Scheepers is a Chemical Engineer-in-Training with 4 years of experience in the mining industry. Her background is in mineral processing (gold, diamonds) and mine tailings water treatment. She is currently leading the water treatment team at the Rainy River Mine, owned and operated by New Gold Inc. The focus of this group is to optimize the existing water treatment system with the goal to maximize throughput while maintaining environmental compliance.
