Bio:
Nosimo Macatsha is the Group Head of Water Stewardship for Gold Fields. In her role she is responsible for setting Strategic direction for water across the group to lift capability and awareness of water related risks and challenges. She provides guidance to the operations and keeps abreast of leading water management practices and ensures their integration into the Group. Prior to this role, she was a Group Water Advisor for Anglo American. A Chemist by training, has MSC in Environmental Engineering and with over 16 years’ experience in the mining industry. She has held technical and management roles at multiple operations and different commodities, specifically in the field of mine Environmental Management, water management, mine waste management and remediation of contaminated groundwater. During her time in Anglo American, she had a privilege to work across different commodities (Coal, Copper, Platinum, Iron Ore, Nickel, Niobium and Phosphate) and in different Geographies (Chile, Brazil, Australia and South Africa).
