Bio:

Silvia is an Environmental Engineer with more than 15 years of experience in the mining-energy industry and with a master’s degree in Mining Environmental Management, specializing in mining in technical and regulatory aspects related to mining procedures, in the control of tailings and benefit plants of the mining industry. She has personal and professional skills for the management of socio-environmental conflicts in the mining-energy sector. 

Since 2016, she has worked as a Mining Environmental Liabilities Specialist and Supervisor of Environmental Remediation Projects for Mining Environmental Liabilities of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, identifying, classifying and updating the national inventory of Mining Environmental Liabilities. Also as part of the functions of the position, she participates in the Work Tables of critical areas of contamination of water resources at the national level related to mining units in operation and former Mining Units, coordinating with different entities of the Executive Power to propose solutions.
